We are a part of the Philippines known as Eastern Visayas. The Island of Leyte is divided into two provinces LEYTE and SOUTHERN LEYTE and the town of Hinunangan is part of Southern Leyte on the eastern coast, facing the Pacific Ocean and the famous Leyte Gulf, the scene of a famous naval battle during World War II.
To our west are the provinces of Bohol and Cebu and to our North is Luzon where the capital Manila is located and to our south is the large island of Mindanao.
We are only 50 minutes flying time from Manila with a choice of three domestic airlines, Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific Airlines and Zest Air all of which fly directly from Manila domestic airports to Tacloban City the capital of Leyte
Access by road is also very easy and interesting via the Mahalika Highway across the famous San Juanico Bridge between Samar and Leyte.
If you prefer a site seeing journey rather than speed, then take one of several Bus services that travel from Manila directly to Hinunangan. This would give you the opportunity to see a broad spectrum of the beautiful countryside in the Philippines.
Tacloban Airport is situated in the north of Leyte and it will be neccessary to travel south by good cemented roads to get to Hinunangan. The journey take about 2 hours and is full of scenic wonders of extensive rice fields, high mountains, virgin forests and small country villages
